Which facts must be known?
- in situ quality of concerned tributary
- in situ quality of water body (depth distribution)
- thermal structure of stratification
- thermal conditions and locations of inflow in the water body
- Exploration of behaviour (substance is spreading, soluble in water?)
- Perhaps closing of transfer (retaining water) from adjacent catchment
area
- In case of oil: decrease of pre dams, set up barriers against oil
- Monitoring of inflow in view of turbidity and temperature
- In worst case temporary interrupt of raw water supply (depended on
capacity of water treatment plant)
